For this recipe you will need:
  • 1 cup warm water

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • ¼ teaspoon of honey

  • 2 ½ cup all purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon of fine sea salt

  • Various vegetables and herbs to decorate the surface of your focaccia

We recommend using a variety of colors to create a bright and vibrant design!

Instructions:

  • Add the olive oil and Arroyo Kitchen Delicious Onion Sauce into a cold saucepan and heat on low until simmering.

  • In a large bowl combine the warm water, yeast, and honey. Stir a few times then let sit for 5 minutes.

  • Add 1 cup of flour and 2 tablespoons of the delicious onion infused oil. Stir 3-4 times until flour has moistened. Let sit for another 5 minutes

  • Stir in the remaining 1 ½ cups of flour and the salt. When dough comes together, transfer to a floured board and knead 10 to 15 times until smooth.

  • Transfer to a large oiled bowl and cover with a warm damp towel. Let it rise for one hour

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F

  • Use 2 tablespoons of the delicious onion infused oil to line the baking tray. Put dough into the oiled tray and spread evenly. Dimple the dough and drizzle with the remaining infused oil mixture

  • This is when you can let your creativity run wild! We used tomato skin for the roses, red onion for the large flowers, chives and basil for stems, and garlic slices

  • Coat your design with a layer of oil so the herbs and vegetables don’t dry out!

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes
